Projects

Rockies Power Reserve is currently developing the Grizzly BESS, a grid-scale battery storage project located in the Drayton Valley & Medicine Hat, Alberta areas, scheduled to come online in 2028. Revenue and operational learnings from the first project, Grizzly, will directly fund the simultaneous construction of two additional sites – Big Horn BESS and Grey Wolf BESS – bringing all three facilities into commercial operation by 2030. Together, this Alberta-owned trio will deliver over 100 MW / 400 MWh of fast-response, emissions-free energy storage, turning Alberta’s abundant wind resource into reliable, around-the-clock renewable power for the province.
